The following provides a highlight of some of the new features of HELIOS UB - Unbreakable Server Solutions.

Authentication Server
This allows HELIOS services to integrate into existing network authentication services including Windows Active Directory AD/PDC, LDAP and NIS. It is therefore no longer necessary to duplicate and synchronise user accounts on the HELIOS server.

HELIOS Admin
This new cross-platform configuration tool, written in Java, allows access to all product configuration options from one simple to use GUI. Compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Unix operating systems. It replaces EtherShare Admin.

Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) 3.1
This brings long filenames, increased maximum file size and full Unix permission support to EtherShare. It is required for full compatibility with OS X clients. With AFP 3.1, remote files and folders are treated the same as local files and folders.

PDF Native OPI workflow for InDesign users
This unique new feature permits the placement of lo-res layout images onto InDesign pages where transparency is used - bringing the full benefits of OPI to InDesign users.

PDF Preflight checking
Using the Callas preflight engine (as used in Acrobat), PDF Handshake now supports preflight checking on the server with full reporting and flexible configuration. This makes PDF Handshake a one-stop-shop for server-based professional PDF creation.

Create PDFs using Distiller 6 or Ghostscript
The UB version of PDF HandShake now allows the PDF generation engine to run either on a dedicated server or on the HELIOS server itself. Additionally, users have the choice of Distiller 4/5/6 for press quality PDF generation, or Ghostscript for general office documents.
