Introduction to JPY

JPYplc specialises in the development and distribution of workflow software. Customers of JPY often come from the publishing industry - newspapers, printers, advertising agencies, etc - and from other sectors that make heavy use of graphic imagery - areas such as retail, the travel industry, medical imaging, photography, architecture and marketing. JPY software is available for private in-house server use or Internet access in the form of web-servers or content-managed web-sites.
The term "workflow" covers the movement and processing of digital data from the beginning to the end of a job. This involves moving files and mesages between computers and sites, processing images, networking, storing/sharing/cataloguing/finding digital assets, job accounting and printing or publishing on the web. It also involves searching many different file types for metadata.
The technologies associated with workflow are complex. File sizes are extreme and networking strategies designed for general offices are rarely appropriate; implementing processes such as colour correction and rendering demand a thorough understanding of the underlying theory; high familiarity with products from manufacturers which are active in the market.
Some of the software products distributed by JPY are developed in-house and some by other software companies. JPY also provides complementary services such as bespoke software development, consultancy, technical support and the hosting and management of customer assets.
JPY products are sold mainly through approved system integrators and authorised dealers who can supply complete solutions including hardware. Corporate customers with their own IT departments and hardware procurement facilities sometimes purchase direct.
