JPY team takes heart from beating beacon

wheelJohn Yardley and David Fox both took to the streets last month for the London to Brighton charity bike ride. The epic ride raised over £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation, and tested both riders to the limit.

The 52 mile ride took the pair 7.5 hours, which might at first seem a leisurely pace. However, both were keen to point out that congestion meant that the first 10 miles took 2.5 hours. But they more than doubled that pace for the remaining 42 miles.

For those unfamiliar with the course, it's most gruelling point is right at the end. Ditchling Beacon, AKA the Green Monster, rises up 814ft above sea level, and most riders elect to push their bike up it. For our intrepid bikers there was only one way, the hard way, on the pedals.

Thanks to everyone that supported the JPY team with a donation to the BHF.
