Next week at IRFA in Hamburg, HELIOS Software will be presenting the upcoming UB2 release, featuring remote proofing and approvals. Among the new features are a host of improvements to the popular WebShare product. Hierarchical annotations and a colour inspector for preview files enhance the remote soft proofing experience.

The new annotation feature allows remote users to place comments on a file preview, and to change the status of a document. A comment can be the starting point for an online discussion, which is saved on the server for future access. Each new version of a reviewed file will inherit the comments and replies of its predecessor.

iPad support for easy real-time preview and annotation of image files, as well as PDF, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, and Office documents is also coming to the new version.
