10 Gigabit Ethernet for the rest of us

ethernetWhile 10 GigE deployments have been experiencing gradual growth, the technology has primarily been used for inter-switch links. Historically, due to cost/performance and the ability of servers to utilise the full bandwidth of a 10GigE connection, almost all server connections in datacenters have remained at 1 GigE, limiting the amount of network throughput available to each server.

However, these factors are changing, and 2009 looks to be the year 10GigE makes it to the servers, and even some high performance desktop machines. JPY will be at the forefront of the market with its Arista range of switches and transceivers.

It's expected that by 2012 10 GigE will be the standard for servers, which will make for amazing network speeds. But if you need that speed right now, for audio, video or other demanding applications, we can help you right now. Click here to find out more.
