WebShare is a ground-breaking technology providing fast and secure real time remote fileserver access from any web browser. This previewing previously required some additional products to be purchased and installed but this has now been simplified.
It's that part of the newsletter where we beg for money again! Since John and Dave enjoyed last years 54 mile ride so much (and raised a decent sum for the British Heart Foundation) we're at it again. Apple asked Archiware to get involved in it's Tech Series presentations over 3 days in March. Tech Series is a forum for Apple to make recommendations and pass on best practices to the technical community. The focus of this particular day was data storage and resilience and featured Xsan configuration with Promise Raid units. JPY's David Fox was on hand to show in detail how easily Archiware PresSTORE fits into an Xsan environment and provides advanced data-resilience possibilities through Backup, Archive and Synchronisation.
HELIOS users can now benefit from the consolidation and flexibility offered by virtual computing by running their HELIOS servers in virtual environments. This also allows for easier load balancing, without needing to deploy multiple physical servers.

Backup and securing such quantities of data generally does require some additional hardware investment but it also requires more structured thinking about the issues in hand.
