Learn how to go 'nitro' with your data
In recently history, a customer workflow with over a terabyte (1000 gigabytes) of storage was rare. Now we find multi-terabyte SANs and RAIDs on a regular basis. Backup and securing such quantities of data generally does require some additional hardware investment but it also requires more structured thinking about the issues in hand.
One of Archiware PressSTORE's great strengths is what we like to call 'unlimited parallelising'. Catchy isn't it! Once understood, this allows maximising throughput to tape hardware. If you can maximise throughput to (for example) a pair of LTO4 tape drives, then you can backup 1 terabyte in a little over an hour. That's seriously fast and would require fast storage and properly configured connections but it's possible using standard and inexpensive tape hardware. If your data compresses, it'll go even faster.
So in order to understand 'unlimited parallelising' and be able to solve data-management issues more effectively, Archiware have published a white paper titled 'How to speed up your backup', click here to download PDF.
