New features include smart interface, iPhone app and progressive backup

London, UK – June 22, 2010 – JPY today announces the launch of the next generation of Archiware's powerful and award winning PresSTORE data management system. PresSTORE P4 includes a new smart browser interface feature to help guide users through the software, a PresSTORE mobile iPhone App to allow users to monitor PresSTORE servers from anywhere and 'progressive backup', a new concept for backing up large data sets.

PresSTORE P4's browser based interface offers users easy access and maximum security. The addition of intuitive guides will help new users to install and run the software quickly and easily, meaning they can have their first backup running in just a few minutes.

The smart browser interface also adds flexibility by making it possible for users to login, configure and administer their PresSTORE server from any workstation. User groups can also be granted customised access to Backup and Archive.

PresSTORE P4's progressive backup concept is a new way to backup even large data sets by using incremental backups to complete the data set automatically. This means that organisations never need to do a full backup again and can end their dependency on the weekend backup window (with 60 hours and about 20 TB limit (with 100MB/s)) as the back up data can be saved automatically whenever production allows. The data can also be restored immediately.

Additionally, PresSTORE P4 makes installing and running a tape library easier than ever before by taking care of tape rotation and the organisation of the tapes in the user's library.

Users can also now monitor their PresSTORE server and check planned and running jobs on the go. The PresSTORE mobile iPhone app displays the capacity of users storage pools and allows them to set a critical value for each storage pool that will trigger a notification. Important workstations secured with Backup2Go can also be monitored separately. When such a workstation exceeds a previously defined interval without being backed up, a notification will be sent. Through use of the iPhone contacts, the relevant user can easily be selected.

PresSTORE offers full Xsan support. The integration of Apple FSEvents technology, lets users handle large data sets and build highly optimised workflows. Changed files are recognised quickly and automatically.

Existing customers will need to wait for version 4.1 which will be able to upgrade 3.x installation. 4.0 will only be available to new customers initially. 4.1 will be released September 2010.
