PresSTORE 3.0 from ARCHIWARE adds data-encryption and continuous data protection (CDP) for increased security and availability of sensitive data.
September 25th, 2007 – JPY plc announces that ARCHIWARE, developer of the modular data management solution PresSTORE, presents its new version 3.0 at DMS Expo in Cologne. The new version introduces a more user-friendly design and a host of new features. PresSTORE 3.0 now includes file and transfer encryption, automatic client updating, and the Mac OS X and Windows version has continuous data protection (CDP).
ARCHIWARE has integrated two coding options to protect data against non-authorised access. Via file encryption data can be encoded directly at its source during the backup or archiving process and then be stored in an encrypted form. This encryption offers increased security, especially when data is stored off-site. The second encoding option, the transfer encryption, provides protection during the data transmission to the media. This secures data transfer across the Internet.
CDP for continuous data protection
By the integration of CDP, PresSTORE automatically identifies modified data and directly synchronises it to a defined system. The data protection occurs continuously – a lengthy scanning of the whole file system is unnecessary. CDP minimises the time frame between users making changes to files and their subsequent duplication to a second system, so that the data security will be increased to maximum.
Automatic client update
A convenient new feature of PresSTORE 3.0 is the automatic client update function, which relieves the work of IT administrators of large networks and saves time and costs. PresSTORE 3.0 seamlessly and automatically updates all of its configured clients, both server and workstations.
The final release date of PresSTORE 3.0 will be announced soon. Updates are free to all PresSTORE customers who remain in support.
