Right out of the box, Cumulus can support all Adobe Creative Suite applications. You can preview individual Photoshop layers, extract text used in Illustrator files, and easily drag-and-drop Cumulus assets into Creative Suite applications through the palette window.
However, if your organisation heavily utilises InDesign, consider the additional functionality of the InDesign Extended Pack.
InDesign Extended Pack
The InDesign Extended Pack allows for the deconstruction of individual InDesign pages into individual asset records, each with its own metadata. This allows for easy previews of large InDesign files. With each page assigned its own metadata, you can more easily catalog by page-specific information. Find all the pages in your layout files that were written by a specific author or modified by a particular designer, instead of having to comb through multiple files to find the pages you need.

Armed with the InDesign Extended Pack, Cumulus extracts a mountain of metadata from your InDesign files. See individual pages of a layout, all references images, font used and more. Drag and drop into InDesign makes edits a breeze, and check-in/ check-out ensures your edits are safe, and that your Cumulus catalog stays up to date.
You can also extract layout text into searchable metadata that enables you to search for individual pages by their text content. No need to open InDesign to perform a text search, you can easily find pages throughout your library that refer to a specific product or feature.
InDesign Companion
InDesign Companion takes the integration with Cumulus a step further. Designers can interact with the Cumulus catalog from right within InDesign.
Designers can drag and drop Cumulus cataloged images right into InDesign documents, and completed documents can be cataloged into Cumulus directly.
Check-in/check-out is handled automatically whenever a document is opened, so edits are safe.
When new or edited documents are cataloged, Cumulus automatically cross-references all cataloged images referenced by the document, so you can quickly see all images a document references, or even find all documents that reference a particular image. Now, when it’s time to send documents off to the printer, gathering all included assets is easier than ever.

There’s no tighter integration available between Adobe InDesign and professional digital asset management. A single menu enables InDesign artists to access Cumulus assets without the need for Cumulus client software.
Cumulus can automatically create PDFs of all cataloged documents, so getting approvals is easier—especially when your approvers don’t use InDesign themselves. Streamlining approvals further, Cumulus can send automatic email notifications that alert others when documents are ready.
Images cataloged in Cumulus can be checked out via InDesign Companion for editing right inside Adobe Photoshop. This enables designers to tweak the images they need, while staying in the apps they know best. Once edited, images can be checked right back into Cumulus.
