Sending job-logs to secure SMTP servers
PresSTORE can email joblogs but cannot authenticate with your SMTP server in order to send these emails. If you're email server is the same LAN as the PresSTORE server, then it's usually possible to configure Exchange/Kerio etc to accept and relay emails from your PresSTORE server to your local email accounts. However, with hosted email servers, SMTP authentication is required but not available within PresSTORE.
One nice solution to this is to use the free service smtp2go.com. This service will relay emails for you, providing they come from the address you specify when you set-up the account.
The free version of the service allows 10 emails per day, or 50 per day for $2 per month. All you need to do to get it working is to setup the PresSTORE localhost client with 'smtp2go.com' as the 'Mail Server' and set the 'Mail Sender' field to be the address that you register on the smtp2go website. You'll then need to go into the 'Advanced Options' section at the bottom/left of the administration interface, click through 'User Preferences' and edit the 'root' account and set an email address for this user. You'll find this field within the 'notification' settings for the user.
This option is easier to configure than enabling Postfix on localhost, and if 10 emails per day is enough, free.
